The challenge created by Fred Lizée, which combines a sustainable tourism project and a sports challenge, is back for a second edition.
The New Explorer Challenge is aimed at students and travellers, inviting them to “build a more virtuous adventure tourism and look to the future in a positive and united way”. Candidates will have to imagine an innovative and responsible tourist offer by putting themselves in the shoes of a travel designer.
The sustainable side of the project should take “maximum consideration” of a number of criteria* and should be imbued with “resilience and optimism […] in order to restore the image of international travel and raise awareness of the need to transform the essence of tourism”. Interested candidates, who can participate alone, in pairs or in threes, must present their project in the form of a Powerpoint or a “creative video montage”, and attach a “pitch video (between 2 and 5 min)” to the following address: thenewexplorerchallenge@gmail.com , from Monday, November 22, 2022.
A final at the World Tourism Fair
Applications will be open until February 22, 2022. The 5 to 10 best projects will then be selected by a jury of tourism professionals, and the grand finale will take place on March 18, 2022 during the World Tourism Fair (SMT), in Paris. The winner of the jury prize will have the opportunity to put their offer into practice and test it in the field via a partnership with Terres d’Aventure, and will benefit from personalized support to develop their project. The public will also designate their favorite project via a live event organized on Instagram.
