“We needed a million euros to get over it,” recalls Mélanie Mambré, founder of Vaovert. But the financial package provided by the eco-responsible accommodation platform is stumbling. The company, created in 2017 in Dijon, went into receivership on February 1, 2022. Before being liquidated on March 1 . Overwhelmed by this ordeal, Mélanie Mambré has since regained her strength. Her commitment, the messages of support received and the solidarity of the sector helped her catch her breath to save the achievements.
“I was tickled by my financial fragility. I hadn’t paid myself for months. At the beginning of March, I thought it was the end. But ultimately, this mishap will give a boost to my growth, alongside a bigger player. Today, I see everything positive. An old adage says that you learn more from your failures than from your successes. “There, I learned a lot,” she laughs.
The leader is convinced that Vaovert will rise from its ashes. Companies have come forward for a buyout of the assets at the bar of the court, she confides to us. The deadline for submitting offers is April 16.

Vaovert has always wanted to help transform the tourism sector, and educate the general public to travel differently. Me, I don’t give up. Having an action in Vaovert is my life mission. (laughs)
A commitment that is all the stronger since she is also the treasurer of the association Actors in Sustainable Tourism (ATD). “I am not going to give up now on my wishes to act in favor of the tourism of tomorrow. »
