Conditions of entry, passport or identity card: L’Echo takes stock, at a glance, of the formalities for entering Greece.
Sanitary conditions in the face of Covid
Since May 1, Greece has suspended the Covid digital certificate for international traveler arrivals. There is therefore no longer any need to justify either his vaccination, or a screening test, or his recovery from a Covid-19 infection to stay in Greece.
The conditions for direct access to the Greek islands from abroad are identical to the conditions for entering the continent, underlines the Quai d’Orsay.
Passport or identity card
French nationals can travel to Greece with a valid passport or identity card.
As a reminder, French national identity cards (CNI) issued to adults between January 1, 2004 and December 31, 2013 are still valid for 5 years after the expiry date indicated on the back. And “the Greek authorities have officially accepted this extension”, indicates the Quai d’Orsay. If travelers leave with a CNI which dates from 10 to 15 years, it is strongly advised to download and print the multilingual notice , adds the ministry.
