Tunisia is regaining color on the French market. The Echo takes stock of the entry conditions.
Nevertheless, the Ministry for Europe and Foreign Affairs “strongly” recommends travelers over 18 going to Tunisia to have completed their vaccination schedule against Covid-19.
What are the entry requirements?
Tunisia has lightened the formalities. From now on, the PCR or antigen test is no longer mandatory for travelers with a complete vaccination schedule.
Since February 26, 2022, vaccinated travelers over the age of 18 must present the certificate of their complete vaccination schedule against Covid-19, and undergo random screening tests on arrival. “Positive people will have to apply self-isolation for 5 days, which can be extended to 7 days in the event of the appearance of symptoms”, explains the Quai d’Orsay.
For travelers over 18 who are not vaccinated or who have an incomplete vaccination schedule, they are required to present the negative result of a PCR test carried out 48 hours before boarding or of a rapid test less than 24 hours . Test evidence must include a QR code.
Note that the test or vaccination obligation does not apply to travelers under 18 years of age.
Vaccination pass on site
Public places require the vaccination pass for people over 18, still indicates the Quai d’Orsay on August 2, 2022.
The Tunisian authorities recognize the European health pass.
Passport/ID card/visa
A valid passport is mandatory. On the other hand, the visa is not necessary for a stay of less than or equal to three months.
Tunisia officially tolerates the valid national identity card, accompanied by the travel diary issued by the travel agency, for group travel, specifies the Quai d’Orsay. But this tolerance is not always enforced, he adds. Travelers thus expose themselves to “a possible refusal of entry into the territory” . In order to avoid any unpleasant surprises, it is therefore recommended to travel with a passport.
