Saur and Odalys announce that they have signed an exclusive agreement for the sale of the Flower Campings campsite chain.
Flower Campings will change hands, leaving the Saur group to become part of a well-known tourist operator. It is indeed Odalys, a subsidiary of the Duval group, which is about to acquire it, the two groups having signed an exclusivity agreement.
Flower Campsites, which employs 200 people in high season, has ten directly operated campsites, four motorhome areas and 116 franchisees. In 2021, the channel announces that it has achieved a turnover of more than 15 million euros.
“In a growing outdoor hotel market, Flower has been able to build a benchmark brand with strong notoriety and become the French leader today in terms of number of sites,” comments Laurent Dusollier, CEO of the Odalys group. We share together the importance of territorial anchoring in our development, closer to the needs of communities and territories. But also a DNA shared with the Duval group – that of a family and entrepreneurial spirit. We are committed to maintaining the spirit of independence, which is particularly at the heart of the partnership relationship with its franchisees. By welcoming it into our brand portfolio, we aim to provide it with all of our know-how. It is also a great opportunity to develop in the camping sector and enter the world of franchising with ambition. »
Diversify
Highly identified in the tourist residence market, Odalys was already present in the camping segment with Odalys Plein Air (formerly Vitalys). The group also already operates campsites and Public Service Delegation (DSP) as well as the marketing of several dozen establishments. Odalys also launched the “Nomad by Odalys” concept in 2021, a new eco-responsible outdoor accommodation concept, and recently expanded its activities to the sale of residential mobile homes. A diversification strategy resolutely led by Laurent Dusollier, who took over as CEO of Odalys in 2015 .
With this sale, the Saur group, a specialist in water infrastructure management, is refocusing on its core business. He had accompanied the development of Flower Campings since 2013.
The disposal project remains subject to the completion of the usual procedures. The amount of the transaction was not disclosed.
