Dream Yacht Charter offers the concept of Aqualodges

The sailboat rental specialist buys out its counterpart Antilles Sail, which created this floating house concept.

Dream Yacht Carter announces the acquisition of Antilles Sail, a Guadeloupe catamaran rental company. An operation which aims in particular to get your hands on the concept of Aqualodges, which Dream Yacht Charter now intends to develop.

The Aqualodges, what are they? “A boat which is not intended to sail but remains at anchor”, like a floating house, anchored a hundred meters from the coast. Or how to enjoy a stay at sea without navigation. A house-like boat on the water that is self-sufficient in energy thanks to panels and a solar water heater, a rainwater collector and a watermaker. Dry toilets and a filtration system for domestic waste water ensure that no polluted water is discharged into the sea.

Planned development in the Mediterranean, the Indian Ocean, etc.

The houses have two bedrooms, an equipped kitchen, a bathroom and, therefore, dry toilets. They are designed with large windows opening onto the horizon, to take full advantage of the sea views, and a sunny roof terrace. On the leisure side, a motorized annex that can be used without a license to go ashore, kayaks, paddles, flippers, masks and snorkels, fishing rods are offered to customers as well as on-board catering services and excursions.

The concept, tested for fifteen months by Dream Yacht Charter in Martinique in the bay of Sainte-Anne, “quickly met with success”, according to a press release.

By buying Antilles Sail, the group founded by Loïc Bonnet in 2000 is expanding its fleet of Aqualodges and in particular getting its hands on accommodation in Guadeloupe (Saint-François and Les Saintes), and soon in Saint-Martin. The Aqualodges should therefore spread to the Caribbean, but not only. In the medium term, Dream Yacht Charter aims to “discover this new type of holiday in other geographical areas”, such as the Mediterranean, the Indian Ocean or the Pacific Islands.

Launched in 2000 with six yachts for charter in the Seychelles, Dream Yacht Group will post a turnover of 148 million euros in 2021. The group now employs more than 600 people in 31 countries, it is established in around fifty destinations in around the world, and operates 900 monohull sailboats and catamarans.
